Evan has been a great trainer for our puppy. She went from an easily frightened, untrained rescue at 4 months old to a confident, friendly, trainable dog with his guidance. He tailored the training to our puppy’s needs and provided helpful instructions and insight for the humans. We are so happy we chose him to train our dog!

We had a great experience with Evan! We have a German Shepherd who came to us as a puppy. We quickly realized we had the sweetest pup, but he really struggled with reactivity. We struggled going in public, going on walks, and going to our vet. We tried 2 different trainers in the area- everyone promising they can help fix our reactivity, but had no success. We reached out to Evan as a last hope of gaining better control of our now very large puppy. He immediately did an evaluation and told us he can help- and man he sure did!!! We are now able to walk confidently in our neighborhood, go into stores, and take our pup to the vet. We learned how to manage the behavior and give our dog confidence.
At the end of our training, we sadly found out that our dog has a chronic illness that required extensive vet visits and time in uncomfortable situations. We believe that without our training we would have never been able to complete the treatment and give our dog the best chance he has. We are so thankful for Evan and his training- there is no way our boy would have cooperated at the vet prior to Evan’s guidance and training.

Evan is absolutely fantastic. He worked with our 1yr old GSD (Axel) for a few months. Results far exceeded my expectations because I thought our dog was just kind of dumb. I have been a customer of Full Contact K9 (Evan Dunbar) for around fifteen years. Throughout that time, Evan was always there to help me raise and care for the dogs. I am now into my second generation of Full Contact K9 German Shepherds. When my first Full Contact K9 (Rearden Steel) was dying around the age of twelve, Evan helped counsel me and even gave me homemade beef marrow broth to help nurse Rearden in his final days. I had a reactive German Shepherd that exhibited fear-based aggression with strangers, and from our very first session Evan approached him with a practical mindset that quickly diagnosed his underlying confidence issues and helped me to reorient that behavior with tangible training drills. Within the matter of a few months, I went from having a dog that was unable to meet new people to comfortably taking him out in public settings, while also learning some new commands along the way. 10/10!

Evan is very knowledgeable in working with all types of breeds and temperaments of dogs. Unlike typical obedience school training that feel very generalized, he helps owners understand their dogs and how/why they behave or respond in certain ways and then works with them uniquely to ensure the best outcomes. Training is done individually or in very small groups. We saw other dogs that trained alongside us that had various behavior issues, and within only a few training sessions started seeing how training was improving their behavior and obedience and continued to improve each week.

I can't say enough great things about our experience, and we were saddened when our doggo finally graduated and that we reached the end of her training. I took Nina my Belgian Malinois to Evan when she was around 2/3month old. My dog was nervy, barked at everything and everyone. Evan showed and taught me many things to build her confidence. My dog was backyard breaded and we didn’t know how she would grow up and be. With Evan he showed me how to properly train her and have an excellent foundation and obedience with Nina. Starting with Nina sitting, laying down, and going into her place by command. Then to Nina having a focus heel and walking without pulling on leash. Finally doing some neat tricks like spinning, and Nina coming immediately towards me when being called. Excellent experience with Evan. Will Definitely be working with him again in the future!
